Empathy Web Platform

The specific objectives of the Empathy Platform for Medical Students are the following:

1. providing resources necessary for education about empathy;

2. providing valuable and motivational data regarding empathy benefits in academic and medical fields;

  • offer up-to-date current evidence-based knowledge, practices, and treatments that focus on improving empathetic skills.

3. Self-assessment of empathy, taking into account individual and social characteristics:

  • Empathy assessment tests will measure cognitive empathy, emotional empathy and behavioral empathy and will offer information about the ratio between these dimensions.
  • The acquired results will be correlated with demographic information about the participants (gender, age, university attendance, year of study, place of residence, living and marital situation), attitudes toward care (person-oriented or technique-oriented) and subjective perception of satisfaction with empathy skills (in relationship to family, friends, professional/student life).

4. providing community resources and personalized interventions for further development and improvement of empathy, along with self-help resources for resilience.
Self-assessment of empathy, attitudes towards care and the subjective perception of satisfaction with skills in empathetic communication are not only important for the research in the field, but also for providing support to the medical and health allied student in its personal development and career orientation, which will contribute to the general objective of the project.
