
George A. Papadopoulos (Ph.D.) holds the (tenured) rank of Professor in the Department of Computer Science of the University of Cyprus. He has participated in a number of international and national projects both as a researcher or partner, and as a co-coordinator. He has been involved in the organisation and Program Committees of more than 100 international conferences and workshops. Professor Papadopoulos’ research interests include component-based systems, mobile computing, multimedia systems, e-learning, open and distance learning, parallel programming and high performance computing, GRID technologies, electronic commerce, workflow management and CSCW. He has published over 100 papers as book chapters or in internationally refereed journals and conferences and he serves in the Editorial Board of 5 international journals. He has been involved or is currently participating, as coordinator or partner, in over 30 internationally and nationally funded projects (total budget for his participation about 6 MEURO). He is the Director of the SEIT Lab.

Christos Mettouris is (Ph.D) is a graduate of the polytechnic school of Computer Engineering & Informatics Department at the University of Patras, Greece. He holds a Masters degree of the same department and a PhD degree from the University of Cyprus. He has been a member of the e-Learning sector of the Research Academic Computer Technology Institute (RACTI) in Greece. He is currently a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the University of Cyprus and a member of the Software Engineering and Internet Technologies (SEIT) Lab of the Computer Science Department. He is involved in a number of EU and local funded projects (SCIChallenge-H2020, Prosperity4All-FP7, Asterics-FP7, idSpace-FP7, CVN-AAL, B3Regions, InnoFun and more) and was also involved in the organization of a number of conferences in Cyprus (DSD-SEAA 2016, ICEIRD 2014, ICSOB 2014, BIS 2014, WiMob 2014, DeSE 2014, MEDI 2014, KICSS 2014, ICTAI 2014, EC-TEL 2013, ECSCW 2013, MobiWIS 2013, PROFES 2013, EUC 2012, CSE 2012, WISE 2012, ICSOC 2011, CIT 2011, SCALCOM 2011, ICWE 2011, PDP 2011, ECOWS 2010). His research interests include Recommender Systems, Ubiquitous Computing, Model-Driven Development and Context-Aware Computing.

Marios Kyprianou (M.Sc) is currently a Researcher/Software Developer at the Software Engineering and Internet Technologies (SEIT) Laboratory at the Computer Science department of the University of Cyprus. He is a graduate from the University of Crete from the Department of Computer Science. He is taking his master’s degree in computer science at the University of Cyprus and he is a teaching assistant at the University of Cyprus. His interests include programming, data bases, web development and other internet technologies.

Savvas Savvides is an Information Security and Cloud Computing professional with experience in both industry and academia. He holds a Ph.D. degree from Purdue University, a master’s degree from New York University, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Manchester. His research interests include Information Security, Trusted Computing, Distributed Systems, and Cloud Computing, with an emphasis on building secure and efficient distributed systems. He has published in highly prestigious journals and conferences in the areas of Security and Distributed Systems, such as in ACM Transactions of Privacy and Security (TOPS), Very Large Data Bases Endowment (VLDB), ACM Symposium on Cloud Computing (SoCC), IEEE Pervasive Computing, and others. He is currently a Special Scientist (Researcher) at the SEIT Lab, University of Cyprus, conducting research and development on Human-Computer Interactions, Assistive Technologies, and Technology Enhanced Learning. He is also a Senior Software Engineer at Fortanix, working on the next generation of cloud computing security, by utilizing privacy-enhancing technologies such as Intel SGX and AWS Nitro Enclaves. Finally, Savvas holds a position as an Adjunct Researcher at the Software Systems (SWYSTEMS) Lab of the University of Lugano (USI) where he conducts research on applying Homomorphic Encryption on big data and stream processing systems to enable efficient and privacy-preserving analytics. In the past, Savvas has worked as a Visiting Lecturer of the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the European University of Cyprus, as a Blockchain Security Engineer at Crypto.com, and as a researcher at Oasis Labs, and at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center.

Charalampos Theodorou (M.Sc.) is currently a Researcher – Software Developer at the Software Engineering and Internet Technologies (SEIT) Laboratory at the Computer Science department of the University of Cyprus. He holds a graduate (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science from the University of Cyprus and a postgraduate (M.Sc.) degree in Internet Science and Technologies from the University of Twente (UT). Since then he has participated in various freelancing independent and team projects. Prior to working for SEIT Laboratory, he participated in an Erasmus placement program where was contracted for a 6 month duration working as a Full-Stack Developer in an e-learning company located in Valencia, Spain. His skill sets include proficiency in various coding languages (C, C++, Java, Javascript, PHP, Python), knowledge of multiple frameworks (Angular, Bootstrap, Ionic, JPA, JUnit, Spring Boot, WordPress) and has experience with many different fields (Android development, web technologies, IoT protocols, Networking, Hardware Security, Internet Security, AI and NN implementations).
