Members of TU

Dr. Rebecca Reichel is a senior resident in psychiatry at the University Clinic in Tübingen, Germany. In addition to her clinical work, she is a postdoctoral researcher in the field of medical education and holds a master’s degree from the University of Heidelberg. In recent years, she has been responsible for establishing a curriculum that focuses on the formation of professional identity and the development of innovative digital teaching interventions—two areas that she also explores in her research. She teaches medical and nursing students and is actively involved as a trainer for fellow educators. Currently, her research is funded by the Tüff-junior program, a University of Tübingen fellowship for female researchers. As the local Project Leader for ERUDiTE, she is responsible for the development of the Empathy Manual and associated research projects.


Prof. Dr. Anne Herrmann-Werner, MME (Bern), head of TIME – Tübingen Institute for Medical Education, and physician for psychosomatic medicine and psychotherapy, is an expert in patient-physician interaction and communication. 

As a lecturer, she teaches medical and health students as well as residents how to communicate and interact empathically with patients. She is also responsible for the development and implementation of a longitudinal curriculum on patient-physician communication which is a significant part of the medical curriculum at the University of Tübingen.

As a researcher, she focuses on how to enhance students’ competencies regarding empathic and appreciative communication with patients. In her current research, she investigated how to increase empathy of medical students by using AI-applications and virtual reality scenarios. Furthermore, she is interested in fostering medical students’ empathy and simultaneously, reducing distress and burnout. 

Her research team at TIME supports her activities on empathy in medical/health students adding an additional layer of experience and knowledge.


Eva Eitler-Roosz, MA is a project manager at TIME – Tübingen Institute for Medical Education. She supports various research projects in the field of medical education in collaboration with national and international partners. She coordinates project participants and supports preparation of reports and publications.

She is also responsible for public relations work of TIME. In this context, she develops communication strategies and contributes to networking with other faculties and institutions within and outside the University of Tübingen.

As part of the EU project Erudite, she is responsible for the dissemination strategy in Tübingen. In doing so, she ensures that the research results and project programmes are communicated and made visible in a targeted manner – within the scientific community, the student body and beyond.


Sophia Helen Adam is a psychologist and licensed psychotherapist (cognitive behavioral therapy). She studied psychology at the Universities of Mannheim and Erlangen-Nuremberg and received her license as a psychological psychotherapist in 2022. Since then, she has been working as a research associate in the Department of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy at the University Hospital in Tübingen. Her research focuses on health care and health promotion in the context of work and vocational training. As a local project coordinator for ERUDiTE, she is responsible for associated research projects as well as the development of the empathy web-platform organization of the Summer School.
